A lot happened in the last two books and none of the characters got past all of those events scot-free. I’m SO glad I stuck around to get to know him better! 🙂 Add that to the fact that he’s extremely sexy and you have a VERY swoon-worthy book boyfriend. In fact, it’s obvious that he adores her and he’s incredibly sweet to her.

Most importantly, he isn’t a jerk at all when it comes to Katy anymore. But, in this book, he’s grown, he realizes that he’s a jerk sometimes and he’s trying to be better (see my Teaser Tuesday quote for evidence). Sure, he’s still a bit rough around the edges, but that makes him exciting. Yep, you read that correctly – I am now a bona-fide Daemon fan. Meanwhile, Katy and Daemon have finally gotten past pushing each other away and are busy solidifying their relationship (in more ways than one). In order to do this, they find themselves teaming up with an unlikely (and perhaps untrustworthy?) ally. This story revolves around the gang trying to rescue Beth, Dawson’s hybrid girlfriend from the DOD. And now, after Opal, I am HOOKED! (WARNING: If you haven’t read the first two books, stop here and go read them because there will be some spoilers here.) By the end of Onyx, I was convinced that this was a series worth pursuing. Still, I had heard that Daemon improved a lot in the second book, so I thought I’d give it a chance.

In fact, I really didn’t like Daemon AT ALL in the first book and I just barely like Katy. Those of you who have read my reviews of books one and two of the series know that I wasn’t instantly in love with the Lux world (or its people). You have totally won me over and I am now an official Lux fan.
